Gastroenterology / Endoscopy

Gastroenterology covers disorders of the digestive system. An endoscopy typically refers to looking inside the body for medical reasons using an endoscope, a long, thin, flexible tube that has a light source and a video camera at one end.

At The Foscote Private Hospital we provide a variety of procedures to investigate gastric and bowel disorders, including:

  • gastroscopy
  • colonoscopy
  • combined procedure of both gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

We also offer:

  • flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • rubber band ligation of haemorrhoids
  • flexible cystoscopy.

As part of the procedure biopsies may be taken, results will be communicated by your consultant within three weeks. Polyps can also be removed at the time as part of the procedure.

We offer fast and direct access to a convenient consultation, diagnosis and treatment.
