Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnosis Service & Support
Getting a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder can have a positive outcome for a lot of children who are struggling.
Children with autism can present with obvious difficulties from a young age or may mask their presentation so that it only becomes apparent as problems during transition to secondary school, or with high levels of anxiety or sleep difficulties or food phobias etc.
If a child is having difficulty in school, is coping at school but having meltdowns at home, or having peer relationship difficulties in school, or finds the demands of the world unusually difficult, it might be worth considering this diagnosis. Understanding autism can change your child’s life for the better. It can have an impact on school attainment as well and it can help understand problems like school refusal etc.
However, this diagnosis is not lightly given and as such it has to be done via standardized assessments like ADI-R and ADOS-2. This is what we provide.
Our paediatrician has worked with children with autistic spectrum condition, both with and without learning difficulties and disabilities, has a deep understanding of what it is like to live with this and can offer insights into the condition that have come from years of experience.

Paediatric Allergies
All our paediatric consultants have experience in diagnosing and treating allergies, we also have a consultant who focuses on those conditions.
Core diagnostic tests are available, such as biochemical screening, vitamin deficiency testing, or skin prick testing. Your consultant’s knowledge is the prime asset but using modern science makes sense.
Diagnosis can identify childhood food allergies, hay fever, eczema, asthma, or less common conditions. Mast cell activation syndrome is an example, which causes cells to release unwanted chemicals.
Ongoing symptoms a child has, such as itching, may benefit from professional diagnosis, to understand the cause and the best way to deal with this.
Immunotherapy, or desensitization are available, along with medication suited to a child. The approach will combine the need to alleviate symptoms and a plan to improve your child’s long term health.
Consultation & Other Fees
In most cases, if you are meeting your own costs, you can self refer directly to one of our paediatric consultants.
Patients using medical insurance covering younger family members should be fine, as our consultants work within acceptable fee levels. Consultations typically cost between £150 and £250.
Where specific requirements are being met, such as autism assessment, we are always clear on cost at an early stage. The same applies to all forms of paediatric treatment.
Our consultants are renowned, senior physicians or surgeons. They will be on the General Medical Council’s specialist register, along with belonging to specialist bodies.
As importantly, they are here because they share our patient first ethos. To request an appointment with a consultant, or an autism assessment, please use use the form, email link, or phone number below.
