How Payments Are Made
The New Foscote Hospital will invoice your insurance provider directly for all items insured under your individual cover. We have an arrangement with many insurance companies which allows us to send invoices to them electronically.
At the end of your stay, you may receive an invoice for treatment, which you should forward to your insurance company, together with consultants bills. We do request that you provide your full insurance details when arriving for treatment, or we may ask you to settle your account in full before leaving.
Additional Charges
Depending on your policy, an insurance provider may require you to pay an excess. They should advise you of this when you first contact them.
Certain items, perhaps medication to take home, or assistive devices such as walking sticks, may not be covered by your insurer. This can result in an additional charge from the hospital.
Please make sure you check the details of your individual policy in advance, to make sure you are aware of any possible additional charges.
Meals provided for your visitors are not covered by insurance. They are charged to you and payable directly to the hospital.
If you have any queries about additional payments or charges not covered by insurance, please check your policy or contact your insurer for advice.
Frequently asked questions
When visiting your GP, let them know you have private medical insurance and that you would like your care to take place at The New Foscote Hospital. Occasionally, an insurer may not automatically include The New Foscote Hospital within their standard hospital network. If this happens, and you are offered an alternative location that is not convenient or local to you, you can request to receive your treatment at The New Foscote Hospital as your preferred choice.
Open Referral means your insurer will give you a list of Consultants and/or hospitals they have pre-selected based on your treatment needs. If The New Foscote Hospital or one of our Consultants does not appear on that list – and you would prefer not to use the alternative suggested – you can still request to have your treatment at The New Foscote Hospital.
