Mr. Pyrovolou graduated in medicine from the Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki in 1999. His passion for orthopaedics led him to Attikon University Hospital in Athens, where he trained for several years before pursuing further specialisation in the UK.
He undertook a combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spinal Fellowship, beginning with a year at Cardiff University Hospital, followed by two years at Oxford University Hospital.
In 2010, Mr. Pyrovolou was admitted to the GMC’s specialist register for trauma and orthopaedic surgery, paving the way for his consultancy career. He specialises in spinal conditions, including spinal trauma, deformities, and spinal tumours—areas where expertise is both rare and crucial.
The spine’s complexity and significance demand precise and highly skilled treatment to minimise the risk of spinal cord injury. Mr. Pyrovolou’s meticulous approach to diagnosis and treatment is complemented by his compassionate nature, an attribute greatly valued by his patients.
